Cape Verde is a perfect destination for all travellers.

The top things to do in Praia, Cape Verde are hanging around on Quebra Canela Beach, having caipirinha on Praia beach, enjoying the nightly live music, as well as elaborate snacks or a full-blown meal. Located to the south-west of downtown, Quebra Canela beach is the centre of the summer fun in Praia, Cape Verde. Tourists and locals alike love Quebra Canela, and I am sure that once you visit as well, you will see why. The beaches that I recommend to you for your time here are either Quebra Canela or Prainha.

Santa Maria is the biggest and most popular beach in Sal, but you do not need to only go there for the waters. Santa Maria Beach has become the main tourist attraction of late since Sal gets its name from that lake. Santa Maria beach is also called Olho Azul by locals and is located on the north-western shore of the island. It is said by many to be the best beach in Sal, located to the north of the city of Mindelo.

The weather of Sal Island is extremely warm and dry, with miles upon miles of sandy beaches making it an absolute tropical paradise for anyone looking to kick back at sea. The golden sands and calm sea conditions make the island the number one destination for those looking for relaxing beach holidays in an amazing place. Sal made me love the country, but I would recommend visiting the other islands too, such as Sao Nicolau or Fogo (which is home to Pico de Fogo, the highest point of the country, which is also an active volcano and mountain).

Among all the interesting things to do in Santiago, visiting the local markets of Plateau district is a must. Here, you get to experience Cape Verdes biggest African market and get fully immersed into local culture and traditions.

Boa Vista is one of the most popular islands attracting visitors to Cabo Verde, and it is a deserted island paradise, ideal for sand-dune adventures. Boa Vista is also known to host some of the best beaches in the country, like Varandinha, Santa Monica Beach, Estoril Beach, and Spiaggia Di Curralinho. Surrounded by some of Cape Verdes best hotels, Varandinha Beach is a favourite for beach lovers, snorkelers as well as families with children.

Of all the cities across the entire archipelago, Praia is your best choice when it comes to tasting delicious Cabo Verdean cuisine. A day trip from Praia to Maio will let you explore a different side of the Cape Verde story, culture, and traditions, not to mention allowing you to enjoy the unspoiled beaches and breath-taking landscapes, and to explore the largest forests in Cape Verde, consisting mostly of Acacia trees.
