Tbilisi is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world.

Georgia is an incredibly ancient and very Christian nation, which means that its capital, Tbilisi, has a wealth of museums and religious sites. The oldest district of Tbilisi offers various sights to explore such as Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Bridge, Mother of Georgia, Botanical Garden, old residential buildings and more. As you stand on top of the Narikala Fortress or Mother Georgia, you will be looking down at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden (opposite the old city). streets. In the Old Town you will also find many Tbilisi hotels, attractions, and tourist infrastructure. Mother Georgia is an excellent choice, otherwise Mtatsminda Park is also a viable choice: it is located near the Tbilisi TV Tower, the highest point in the Georgian capital, and is clearly visible from the old town. Just a short walk from the top station of the Tbilisi Cable Car, Mtatsminda Park is a quirky amusement park with an old, haunted house, a 4D children's cinema and more. A few steps west of Freedom Square, you will find the Tbilisi Cable Car, which takes you to Mtatsminda Park and Mtatsminda Park's cable car restaurant. If you walk through the narrow streets around the Old City towards the ancient baths and the mosque of Tbilisi, you will eventually come to the stairs leading to Narikala Fort. Today you can visit traditional beach establishments, there are few of them in Tbilisi, most of them are in the Abanotubani area near the Narikala fortress and the old city. The traditional sulfur baths of Tbilisi are located in the Abanotubani district of the Old City and are not hard to find with their brick domes and fetid clouds of sulfuric steam. The sulfur baths, located at the beginning of the Old City of Tbilisi, or Abanotubani, are a historical place in Tbilisi that is open all year round and especially relaxing in winter. Hidden in the labyrinths of the streets of the old city of Tbilisi are monuments, churches, mosques, museums, cafes, 19th-century houses, and buildings with holes in their facades that can tell their story. A lot of attention is being paid to the historic centre, but there are also some new ultra-modern architectural developments that bring interesting dynamics and contrast to the urban landscape. Not only will you find centuries-old churches, a fortress, or beautiful corners in the old city, but Tbilisi also has impressive Art Nouveau or Brutalist buildings, great food and coffee, and some fantastic and original places. Along the way, do not miss the chance to see Georgian architecture as some of the most beautiful buildings in the city are located here. There are several Orthodox churches in the capital of Georgia that are worth visiting: two of them that I liked the most are the Bethlehem Church in the Old City with a yard full of cats and great views of the city, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, which can be seen from all over the world. Although the Metekhi Church itself is interesting, the main reason to visit this place is the beautiful view of old Tbilisi, Narikala Fortress, and surroundings - one of the best views you can find in Tbilisi. The most impressive church you can visit is the sixth-century Tbilisi Sioni Cathedral (until 2004 it was the main residence of the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia), but other churches worth seeing in the Old City are the Jvaris Mama Church. Church of Lower Bethlehem and Church of St. George Armenian Cathedral. The Old Town is the perfect picture of the capital of Georgia, a labyrinth of narrow streets with colourful houses, stray cats and courtyards with half-timbered vineyards and a cascade of grapes - yes, you heard right, grapes grow right in the centre of the city, revealing Georgia's thousand-year-old love for wine. Winemaking traditions have been preserved in several regions of Georgia - and there are several shops in the Old Town where visitors can taste the product.
