Being one of the largest stupas in all of Nepal, the Boudhanath Stupa is one of the best attractions in Kathmandu. This is a beautiful and impressive stupa that you must see in Kathmandu. Considered a masterpiece of Hindu architecture, Pashupatinath is a collection of temples, ashrams and more, and is an important Hindu pilgrimage site and one of the holiest places to visit in Nepal's capital. Kathmandu, the gateway to the sublime Himalayas, is also known as the "City of Temples" and the Kathmandu Valley is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, just to name a few of the many historical sites worth visiting in Kathmandu. Kathmandu is home to places to visit such as the Durbar Square (with temples built in the 12th century), the Boudhanath Stupa (a World Heritage Site), and the Pashupatinath Temple (the most important Hindu temple in Nepal, on the banks of the Bagmati River). All these places are located right in the Kathmandu Valley and are believed to be not only related to the formation and development of the Kathmandu Valley but are also related to the Buddhist and Hindu spirituality of Nepal. As a result, three beautiful ancient cities combine fascinating sights, smells and sounds, as well as numerous temple complexes and squares. Located in the heart of the old city, Kumari Chowk is just one of the many sights you can see in Kathmandu. Although this UNESCO site was severely damaged in the 2015 earthquake, Durbar Square remains one of the best places to visit in Kathmandu. The Golden Temple outside the Durbar Square is a must and one of the most impressive Buddhist monasteries. The famous "monkey temple" Swayambhunath is one of the most sacred Buddhist temples located on a hill in the city and is worth a visit. The famous Boudhanath Stupa, known as the Monkey Temple, offers a panoramic view of Kathmandu city. Located on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, Swayambhunath Stupa is a wonderful place to enjoy panoramic views of the city. The golden spires of Swayambhunath Stupa and Coronation Valley offer the best view of Kathmandu.
