Description
Silver Cave is a layered karst cave in Guilin, with stalactites sparkling like the Milky Way, hailed as the "World's Karst Cave Wonder."
Your visit begins in the lower cave area (entry wonders). Here, you'll see the Music Stone Screen: a stone screen as thin as gauze, rippling like sound waves under lights—one of the "Three Wonders," it produces crisp, heavenly echoes when lightly tapped. Next is the Moon Palace: a towering stone hall encircled by crystalline columns, evoking the mythical home of Chang'e, steeped in dreamlike atmosphere.
Then, you'll enter the grand hall area (core spectacles). The Snow Mountain Flying Waterfall is the finale of the "Three Wonders"—layered stone cascades tumble like an avalanche, with dynamic lights simulating roaring water for overwhelming grandeur. You'll also admire the Preaching Buddha: one of the "Three Treasures," where clustered stones resemble Buddha statues in solemn debate, strikingly lifelike and infused with Zen serenity. Plus the Hunyuan Pearl Umbrella, a massive stone umbrella aglow with jewel-like radiance, its "pearls" cascading in layers, shifting like a shower of treasures under lights.
Finally, reach the upper cave area (peak marvels). Here stands the Single Pillar Holding the Sky: emblem of the "Three Treasures," a solitary stone column soaring to the ceiling, propping up the cavern like a pillar of heaven, majestic in scale. And the Silver Milky Way: dense clusters of silvery-white stalactites hanging down, sparkling like an inverted galaxy—the cave's standout highlight and a must-photograph spot.
Other stone formations include Lion-Elephant Pagoda, Jade Pool Fairyland, and stone flower clusters—each uniquely shaped (one-third resemblance, seven-thirds imagination), formed over tens of thousands of years.
Another standout is the Water Mirror Reflection, where the water surface divides stalactites and their perfectly symmetrical reflections into twin realms, the underwater mirror seeming bottomlessly deep. Many Silver Cave visitors rave about its beauty, calling it one of the top photography spots
