Description

Discover Longjing tea culture in Meijiawu. Wear traditional tea-picking clothing, pick fresh leaves, and watch the tea-roasting process while learning about its history and traditions.
Arrive at the meeting point in Meijiawu, one of Hangzhou’s best-known tea-growing areas, and be welcomed by the local team. Begin by learning about the history, growing environment, and cultural significance of West Lake Longjing tea.

Change into traditional-style tea-picking clothing, creating a more immersive atmosphere and offering an excellent opportunity to take photos among the tea gardens. Then, enter the tea garden and learn how to identify suitable tea leaves, how young shoots are selected, and how experienced tea farmers use careful hand movements to avoid damaging the leaves.

Observe or participate in the traditional iron-wok tea-roasting process. Longjing tea is famous for its flat shape, fresh fragrance, and smooth taste, and the hand-roasting stage plays an important role in creating these characteristics.

During the demonstration, learn about the temperature of the wok, the hand movements used to press and shape the leaves, and the experience required to control moisture and aroma. This part of the activity provides a close look at a traditional craft that is rarely seen in ordinary sightseeing tours.

After finishing all tea-making sessions, you will receive a complimentary travel photo frame as a special souvenir to keep your precious tea garden memories forever.
