Rafting on the Vjosa River – Europe’s Last Wild River
Experience an unforgettable adventure on the Vjosa River, one of the last wild and free-flowing rivers in Europe. Join Albania Rafting Group, the pioneers of rafting in Albania and leaders in adventure tourism with European standards, for an exciting class III rafting experience surrounded by stunning nature.

Departures are confirmed every day throughout the year, with no minimum number of participants required. Whether you travel solo, as a couple, or with friends, you can always count on a safe and memorable journey guided by certified professionals.

For visitors based in Berat, the experience begins with a scenic 1 hour and 40-minute transfer through valleys and traditional villages to reach Përmet, where the adventure starts. From the moment you arrive at the Rafting Base, you’ll be welcomed by experienced guides who will provide all necessary equipment — neoprene suit, life jacket, thermal shirt, and helmet — ensuring comfort and safety.

After gearing up, a short minivan transfer will take you to the starting point on the river. Before launching, your guides will explain paddling techniques and safety rules, helping you and your team work together to navigate the rapids confidently.

Then it’s time to dive into the adventure! Paddle through the crystal-clear waters of the Vjosa National Park, now part of UNESCO, and feel the rush as you face the thrilling class III rapids. Between the exciting waves, enjoy moments of calm as the river meanders through spectacular landscapes, lush riverbanks, and under a medieval stone bridge that connects centuries of Albanian history with the wild beauty of nature.

The Vjosa is more than just a river — it’s a living ecosystem, home to diverse flora and fauna, untouched by dams or heavy construction. Every paddle stroke offers a reminder of why this river is called Europe’s last wild river.

After your rafting adventure, return to the base by minibus, change into dry clothes, and relax with your team. Those joining from Berat can enjoy a delicious local lunch before returning, sharing stories and laughter from the day’s journey.
With over 25 years of experience, Albania Rafting Group remains the most trusted name in adventure travel in Albania, promoting sustainable tourism and protecting the country’s natural heritage.

Join us on the Vjosa and discover the perfect balance between adrenaline and serenity. Feel the power of the river, the warmth of Albanian hospitality, and the joy of exploring one of Europe’s last truly wild places.
