Description

Cerro Goye is one of the most easily accessible peaks with panoramic views in Bariloche on a day hike. Of medium difficulty, the hike passes through native forests and a breathtaking summit ridge.
Cerro Goye is located to the west of Bariloche. At its base is Colonia Suiza. We'll leave the car there and start walking along a wide trail, which also leads to Laguna Negra. After about 40 minutes, we'll take a turnoff to the left, first going up through a coihue forest and then through a lenga forest to the ridge. From there, we'll continue to the summit, which offers incredible panoramic views of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche, and the mountains to the west. Depending on the time and the group's technical level, you can return from the summit to the base along the ridges (passing by a secondary summit) or along the same trail. In total, taking into account the round trip to the car, the distance covered is approximately 10 km, with an accumulated elevation gain of 850 m. The technical difficulty of the trek is medium, so it can be done by people with no previous experience of mountain hiking, but who engage in physical activity frequently. On the way back down to Colonia Suiza, guests can enjoy a well-deserved beer or homemade cakes with local sweets.
