Description
Depart from Hangzhou to explore Lingyin Temple, savor Hangzhou cuisine, visit the Tea Museum, and try tea-picking, frying & tasting in Longjing Village—a one-day essence of Hangzhou!
Escape the hustle of downtown Hangzhou and enjoy a relaxing Zen-and-tea getaway. In one day, you'll visit an ancient temple, explore China's only tea culture museum, and go to a local tea farmer's home in Longjing Village to pick, fry, and taste tea with your own hands—a deep dive into Hangzhou's authentic tea culture.
Stop 1: Lingyin Temple
Lingyin Temple is Hangzhou's oldest and most famous temple, and the starting point of today's tour. In the morning, you'll walk among ancient trees, hear the monks' chanting, and breathe in the incense-filled air. Stroll along the stone paths and admire the Buddhist carvings at Feilai Peak—it's a peaceful experience that calms the mind.
Stop 2: China National Tea Museum – Guided Tour
Next, your guide will take you to the China National Tea Museum—the only national-level museum in China dedicated to tea and tea culture. The museum covers tea's history, varieties, and production methods. With your guide's commentary, you'll learn a lot—from the origins of tea to the differences between the six main tea types. It's an eye-opening experience you won't forget.
Stop 3: Hangzhou-Style Lunch
After the museum, your guide will take you to enjoy authentic Hangzhou cuisine. You'll have the chance to try classic dishes like Dongpo pork, Longjing shrimp, and West Lake fish—letting your taste buds remember the flavor of Hangzhou.
Stop 4: Longjing Village – Tea Picking, Frying & Tasting at a Local Home
In the afternoon, we head to Longjing Village. This isn't a commercial tourist spot—we take you to an actual local family's home, where they grow tea right in their backyard. An experienced local master will guide you through the whole process: pick fresh tea leaves in the garden, then fry them in a hot iron wok and watch the leaves dry and release their aroma. The tea you make is yours to take home—the most meaningful souvenir of your trip. Finally, sit down and brew a cup of the tea you helped make—with each sip, you'll taste the true flavor of Jiangnan.
From the morning temple bells to the afternoon tea fragrance at a farmer's home, this one-day tour captures the real, down-to-earth taste of Hangzhou's Zen and tea culture.
