In our Stable Visit you will learn about the uniqueness of the Icelandic Horse, you will be able to meet and pet the horses. Come really close to the most beautiful animal of the Island.
Come and experience the unique world of the Icelandic Horses at Sturlureykir Horse Farm.
Your visit begins with a presentation where we introduce you to our farm, our horses and the Icelandic horse breed. You'll learn about their history, character and of course their famous extra gaits.
After the presentation, we head to the stables where you'll have the opportunity to meet our horses up close. You can feed, pet and interact with the horses while learning more about their personalities and their daily life. The perfect experience for visitors who want to experience the gentle nature of the icelandic horse.
But the experience doesn't stop with the horses! We'll also show you another fascinating feature on our farm - our geothermal heating system and underground bakery. Iceland is famous for it's volcanic activity and you'll get some insight about how we use this incredible nature resource to heat our houses and stables and how we utilise it to bake our traditional icelandic rye bread. Of course you'll also get to taste some of that.
This visit is more than just meeting horses, it is an opportunity to experience Icelandic farm life, culture and tradiotions all in one place.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
