Description

Visit Armenia’s gems in one day: Khor Virap Monastery, scenic Lake Sevan, and Sevanavank Monastery—an 8th-century landmark set by the lake.
Cradle of Christianity in Armenia
Khor Virap Monastery is located in a place of great historical and religious importance. Its name means “deep dungeon,” and the pit where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 14 years can still be seen today. The monastery is closely connected with the adoption of Christianity as Armenia’s state religion and remains an important pilgrimage site.
Sevanavank Monastery and the Lake of Gods
Sevanavank Monastery is located on the Sevan Peninsula, about 6 km east of the city of Sevan. In the 8th century, monks settled here, building chapels and cells, and later expanding the complex with churches and fortifications.
Lake Sevan, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in the world, lies at 1,916 meters above sea level. Surrounded by mountains, its crystal-clear waters are said, by legend, to have been drunk only by stars and gods.
At Semo - You can enjoy it at a scenic lakeside restaurant at Lake Sevan, offering fantastic views of the lake and mountains. The menu includes fresh, delicious fish from Sevan Lake, providing a true taste of local cuisine.
