Walk by the Moscow Cinema towards the Opera and Ballet Theater. The cinema is a masterpieces of world architecture and a major landmark of Yerevan. Not far is Freedom Square, also known as Opera or Theatre Square. This square is one of the most popular places for local young people to relax, skate, or bike. In Freedom Square is also Swan Lake. The lake's history is closely connected to the Opera Theatre and serves as another spot for relaxing or meeting locals.  

Continue on your walking tour to French Square and the park of the Yerevan State Conservatory where you will reach the Cascade Complex. Also known as the Stairway to Heaven, the Cascade Complex is an iconic symbol of Armenia's capital. It's beloved by not only locals, but visitors as well. After learning more history of Yerevan and climbing some 572 steps up the Cascade you will see the extraordinary beauty of the city with the majestic Mount Ararat in the background.
