Begin your tour at your cruise ship in the capital of Castries. See the remnants of French and European influences of colonial times and other historical sites. Travel through Walcott Square and see a monument to St. Lucia’s War dead.

Near the square, see a large Samaan Tree, commonly known as the “Massav” tree, which is over 400 years old. On the eastern end of Walcott Square, see the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Next, go to Morne Fortune (formerly called Le Carenage) and stop at Victory Monument, where you will have spectacular views of the city and the northern portion of the island.

Travel southward past the 19th-century Governor’s House, Roseau Valley (banana plantation), Marigot Bay (the site where the original 1966 “Dr. Doolittle” movie was filmed), and the three fishing villages of Anse La Raye, Canaries, and Soufriere.

Along the way, travel through a portion of the rainforest – Edmund Forest Reserve and then make an optional stop at Plaz Kassav for a taste of traditional cassava bread. From here, stop at a local craft market where you will see the Majestic Pitons in the distance.
