Reconnect with nature on a strenuous but rewarding half-day hike to the top of Table Mountain. Hike along one of the most popular paths in the Platteklip Gorge and get stunning views of Cape Town and its surroundings.
Get back to nature on a challenging hike through the Platteklip Gorge, and be rewarded by spectacular views of Cape Town from the top of Table Mountain. Following pickup from your accommodation, you will be taken to the start of the hike. The Platteklip Gorge hike takes about 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the group's level of fitness.
Hike with an experienced guide who will point out landmarks such as Lion's Head and the flat-topped Signal Hill, known for the Noon Gun salute by the South African Navy. Take in panoramic views of Devil's Peak, and see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was kept in a maximum security prison for 18 years.
Be rewarded with spectacular views of False Bay and the mountains heading towards Cape Point. Travel back down on the Table Mountain Cableway to complete your amazing experience.

- Pickup and drop-off at your accommodation in Cape Town City Bowl and immediate surroundings
- Qualified mountain guide
- Snacks and water
NOT INCLUDED
- Any other food and drinks purchased at the Table Mountain restaurant
- 1-way ticket down on the Table Mountain Cableway
- If Table Mountain Cableway is not running, due to bad weather or maintenance, there will be an extra charge of R200 per person for the guide to hike down with guests
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
