90 minute Walking Tour includes:
Visiting historic locations in the southern end of the village the Germanic architecture will be explained. The immigrants flee from Prussia in 1838 which was perilous and full of drama. You’ll hear stores about these settlers as well as the Pioneer Women’s Walk which took place in the dead of night. Information and fun facts you won’t know without joining our local guides who live, love and work right here in Hahndorf.
What’s to be found under the ‘ol pear tree? It’s not what you expect.
Visit the old mortuary, Germanic architecture, St Paul’s Lutheran Church and other points of interest and intrigue.
You’ll also be visited by several heroes of the village using modern technology.
Please dress according to the weather and wear sensible shoes.

This tour takes place regardless of the weather. It will only be cancelled if there is a storm. Come prepared.
For those with mobility concerns please be aware there are 3 steps to get into the church. There is no ramp.
Clothing to suit the weather. eg warm clothes, umbrella, rainjacket
Please bring a torch, head light. The torch on a mobile phone is not adequate.
There are limited lanterns available.
Guests are to go directly into the restaurant and present their booking details to the staff member who will direct them to their table which is booked for 6.00pm.
The guided tour does not commence until 7.30pm. Guests need to have completed their meal by in time to meet the guide outside the restaurant at 7.25pm. There are no toilet facilities on the tour.

- The meal included is a main course. If you require any other courses or beverages other than table water they need to be purchased separately and paid directly to the restaurant. Guests need to be aware that the meal needs to be concluded by 7.25pm so that the tour can commence on time at 7.30pm.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
