Duration: about 2-3 hours (depending on the group size)
Start and finish: Alter Kranen Würzburg, Kranenkai 1, 97070 Würzburg
Right on the banks of the Main, the Alte Kranen, one of Würzburg's most impressive landmarks, rises up. The baroque building was built between 1767 and 1773 according to plans by Franz Ignaz Neumann, the son of the famous architect Balthasar Neumann. With its two huge wooden cranes, it was once used to handle wine, salt, and merchandise transported on the Main.
Today, the Alte Kranen is a popular vantage point and meeting place, from which you can see the river, the Marienberg Fortress and the Alte Mainbrücke wonderfully. Inside, you'll find historic vaulted rooms that create a cozy ambiance, especially when lit up in the evening. When the building is artfully illuminated in the dark, it unfolds a very special, almost fairy-tale charm – a highlight of every evening city walk or city game. The open vaulted rooms can be used as a bad weather option for the active stations, so no one gets wet feet.
Itinerary: guided city game with riddles and experiential team tasks, followed by mulled wine.
Highlight: At the end, you can enjoy either an exclusive mulled wine tasting or a wine tasting with Franconian wines; non-alcoholic alternatives are also possible.
This program combines a Christmas atmosphere with a special city experience – ideal for your Christmas outing, company outing, or social group event.
