Description

Discover Buenos Aires through the life of Diego Maradona. A guided tour La Boca, the Bombonera Stadium, and Maradona's first house & neighbourhood. Learn about Argentine culture & his influence on it.
Understand Maradona, and you'll understand Argentina.

Begin your tour in La Boca, the famous working-class shipyard neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. where European immigrants arrived here, permanently shaping the city and its culture. Maradona, Argentina's most adored son is ubiquitous, and every corner tells a story to help understand modern Buenos Aires and Diego's relevance to that.
Your guide will explain all about BA's cultural and societal intricacies while walking through the cobblestoned streets with their high pavements and brightly coloured façades. Argentina's biggest idol is synonymous with Boca Juniors, the country's best-supported team, the link is hugely important.

Next, join a stadium & museum tour of the Bombonera, home of the enormously popular Boca Juniors. Important: the tour is mainly in Spanish, so your guide will translate and add extra important context throughout the route, ensuring you make the most of your trip to the mythical Alberto J Armando stadium - otherwise inaccesible to foreigners.

Continue to the residential neighbourhood of La Paternal in central Buenos Aires. Visit the 'Casa de D10s', Dieguito's first house that was given to him by the Argentinos Juniors upon signing with them as a teenager when he moved out of poverty with his family. Step back in time and walk in the footsteps of a legend. Again there is no official tour so your guide will be present to explain the detail and provide important context.

From there, head to the Argentinos stadium and take a moment at the Maradona Sanctuary, located in the stadium walls. See the "DAM" (Diego Armando Maradona stadium) and surrounding streets, decorated with many murals of el Diez (number 10), and get some photos of the best ones.

Inside the stadium, visit the Argentinos club museum, which has a wealth of material on 'Pelusa' (scruffy hair) himself and other famous players produced by the club known as the Semillero del Mundo (the nursery of the world). Enjoy a guided tour from the club historians, supplemented by your bilingual guide.
