Day 1: Baku – Diri Baba Mausoleum – Sheki Silk Road Exploration & Shebeke Workshop
Morning Departure & Historic Stop: Depart Baku in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Stop at the 15th-century Diri Baba Mausoleum in Maraza, a unique rock-cut monument nestled in the cliffs.
Arrival in Sheki & Caravanserai: Reach Sheki by afternoon and step inside the historic Upper Caravanserai, an original stone merchant inn on the ancient Silk Road. Walk through its two-story arched galleries and cobblestone courtyard.
Sheki Khan’s Palace & Artisan Workshop: Tour the UNESCO World Heritage summer residence built in 1797. Following the palace visit, enjoy an exclusive demonstration at a local workshop to watch traditional shebeke artisans hand-craft stained glass windows using centuries-old wood-joining techniques.
Evening at Leisure: Check into your hotel. Spend a relaxed evening strolling through Sheki's craft markets and historic quarters.
Day 2: Kish Temple – Artisan Halva Tasting Tour – Nohur Lake – Baku
Ancient Kish Albanian Church: Travel to the hillside village of Kish to explore the 1st-century Caucasian Albanian Church of St. Elisha. Discover its ancient archeological sites and enjoy a quiet tea break in the surrounding garden.
Interactive Halva & Sweets Crawl: Return to Sheki town for an artisan sweets tour. Visit historic family bakeries—including Halvaci Yahya and Aliahmed—to observe the delicate process of layering rice-flour pastry and sampling different nut-filled halva varieties.
Authentic Piti Lunch: Sit down for a traditional lunch centered around piti, Sheki’s signature slow-cooked lamb and chickpea stew served in traditional clay pots.
