Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Addis Ababa. Head north, driving through the stunning mountain ranges and lush forests of Mount Entoto.
After about two hours, arrive at Debre Libanos, one of Ethiopia’s most respected monasteries, founded in the 13th century by Saint Tekle Haymanot. Visit the museum, where you can see ancient Bible manuscripts and historic religious crosses. Then, explore the church interior and visit the tomb of the monastery’s founder.
Next, take a short 10-minute walk to the cave where Saint Tekle Haymanot used to pray. After that, head to the Portuguese Bridge in the Blue Nile Gorge. Enjoy incredible views and have the chance to spot Gelada baboons and a variety of Ethiopian birds.
When the visit is complete, return to Addis Ababa.
