Embark on a 9-day Tigray churches tour and community trek. Visit the lesser-known rock churches in the red sandstone mountains, and stay in simple guesthouses owned and run by the communities.
Day 1: Addis Ababa
Greet your guide at Bole International Airport and take a drive to Entoto Mountain for a panoramic vista. Visit the National Museum, Merkato, and Holy Trinity Church.
Day 2: Mekele
Fly to Mekele and proceed to Wukro in the early morning. Visit the Cherkos rock churches and the Wukro Museum. Proceed to Michael Imba Rock Church and Abraha Atsebeha Rock Hewn Church. Spend the night at Yohans Maquidi Rock Church.
Day 3: Wukro
Hike to Debre Tsion Abune Abreham Church in the morning. Visit Mary PapaseitDaniel and Mariam Korkor rock churches. Trek for 2 hours and spend the night in tents atop the mountain with local monks.
Day 4: Nahiso Terara
Trek through Nahiso Terara with the local villages and spend 3 hours in Abune Gebremicael in the morning. Spend the night in tents or an overnight guesthouse.
Day 5: Shimbreiti
After a 3-hour morning visit to the Abune Yemata Guh rock church, drive 2 hours to Shimbreiti. See a stunning tunnel and the Mariam Buzuhan rock church. Spend the night at the Shimbreiti Guest House.
Day 6: Guahgot
Spend the day at the Guahgot Guesthouse.
Day 7: Siheta or Enaf
Trek for 7 hours. Spend the night in the communal guesthouses in Siheta or Enaf.
Day 8: Axum
Trek for 2 hours to Sagren from Siheta. Explore the Debre Damo monastery and Yeha Temple during the 3-hour drive to Axum. See the well-known Axum Obelisk.
Day 9: Addis Ababa
Fly back to Addis Ababa.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
