Embark on a 3-day trekking adventure through Ethiopia’s Bale Mountains National Park, home to some of Africa’s rarest wildlife and spectacular landscapes. Discover endemic animals like the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, and giant mole rats, while trekking through lush valleys, waterfalls, and ancient juniper forests. Sleep under the stars in well-prepared campsites, and experience the magic of Ethiopia’s untouched wilderness with a professional local team.

Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Bale Mountains Headquarters (Dinsho town). Upon arrival, explore the HQ area, spotting endemic species such as Menelik’s bushbuck, mountain nyala, warthog, and various rare birds like the Abyssinian catbird and wattled ibis.

Afterwards, drive halfway into the National Park and start your trek through juniper woodlands towards the Habera Waterfall. Along the way, there is a good chance to encounter the Ethiopian wolf and many birds of prey. Spend the night camping near Habera Waterfall (3,500m altitude; 18 km trek).

After breakfast, continue trekking across the Web Valley, passing through diverse landscapes from open plains to woodland areas. Keep an eye out for more Ethiopian wolves, giant mole rats, and endemic bird species unique to the Ethiopian highlands. Spend the night camping at Adelay Campsite (3,400m altitude; 18 km trek).

On the final day, after breakfast, enjoy a 4-hour hike back toward Dinsho, walking through Hygenia and Juniper forests. Spot olive baboons, bushbucks, reedbucks, and a rich variety of birdlife amid lush northern grasslands. Upon reaching Dinsho, your tour concludes, and you’ll drive back to the airport or your onward destination.
