Description

Explore southern Azerbaijan on a day trip to Lankaran and Lerik. Visit tea plantations, Khanbulan Lake, waterfalls, and enjoy authentic local cuisine surrounded by nature
Discover the beautiful south of Azerbaijan, where subtropical nature, ancient history, and unique culinary traditions come together. On this full-day journey to Lankaran and Lerik, you'll explore charming cities, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and authentic local culture far from the usual tourist routes.

Our adventure begins in Lankaran, one of Azerbaijan's oldest cities. Stroll through the famous Samovar Square, a symbol of the region's tea culture, and visit the historic Khan's House, the monument to Azerbaijan's National Hero Azi Aslanov, the Round Tower, the historic Lankaran Lighthouse, and the city's beautiful railway station, each reflecting a different chapter of the region's rich history.

Next, we'll head to the famous tea plantations, where most of Azerbaijan's tea is grown. Learn about the local tea-making traditions while enjoying panoramic views of the endless green fields before continuing to the peaceful Khanbulan Lake, surrounded by the lush forests of the Talysh Mountains.

On our way to Lerik, we'll stop at the Bobogil Shrine, one of the region's most respected spiritual landmarks. We then continue higher into the mountains to Lerik, a town renowned for its pristine nature, fresh mountain air, and remarkable tradition of longevity.

In Lerik, you'll visit the unique Museum of Longevity, where you'll discover the fascinating stories of local residents who lived well beyond one hundred years and learn about the lifestyle that has made this region famous. We'll also visit the picturesque "Girl" and "Boy" Waterfalls, hidden deep within the forest and surrounded by untouched natural beauty.

During the tour, you'll enjoy a traditional lunch featuring Lavangi, Lankaran's signature dish. Chicken or eggplant is stuffed with walnuts, onions, and aromatic local spices before being baked in a traditional clay tandoor oven, creating one of the region's most beloved culinary specialties.
