Experience Huacachina in a different way, without a dune buggy and at your own pace. This experience is designed for those who want to walk through the desert, go sandboarding, and enjoy the dunes at a leisurely pace, accompanied at all times by a guide who will also be your instructor.
We'll start at our office, where you'll receive the gear needed for the activity. You can choose between sandboarding or sandskiing, depending on your preference and experience. Once we're ready, we'll start a hike of about 20 minutes to the big dune in Huacachina.
The walk is part of the experience: little by little, you'll leave the oasis behind and feel like you're entering the desert. Upon arrival, our guide will accompany you throughout the entire activity and help you with the technique and use of the gear, especially if it's your first time sandboarding.
Before tackling the big downhill run, you'll have the chance to practice in an area with smaller dunes. You can slide down, climb back up, and repeat as many times as you like, with no limit on the number of descents, as long as you stay within the time available for the experience.
Then it will be time to enjoy the great dune. You can ride down its longest side, enjoying a longer descent and a different experience on the sand. You set the pace: you can keep practicing, take a break, snap photos, or simply enjoy the scenery.
One of the special moments will be as sunset approaches. From the top of the big dune, you'll have a panoramic view of Huacachina and the city of Ica, creating a perfect setting for photos and for watching how the landscape changes as the sun sets.
This is not a rushed excursion. It's an experience to enjoy the desert at your leisure, practice the sport your way, and have time to appreciate the scenery.
At the end, we'll walk back to Huacachina. Once at our office and bar, you can relax and enjoy a complimentary drink, choosing between a cocktail, a soft drink, or water.

Dune buggy not included: The entire experience is done on foot.
The hike to the great dune takes approximately 20 minutes and involves walking on sand.
It is recommended that you bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and wear comfortable shoes.
For sunset, we recommend bringing a jacket or warm garment, as the temperature can drop quickly after the sun sets.
Sandskiing requires previous experience. For beginners, we recommend choosing sandboarding.
There is no limit to the number of descents within the booked time, but always following the instructor's guidance and safety conditions.
The activity is subject to weather and sand conditions.
The customer must be able to walk on sand and climb a large dune.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
