From Arequipa: Half-Day Tour of the Sillar Route

Itinerary:
We’ll meet at 9:00 a.m. at the meeting point in Arequipa. There, our guide will welcome you to begin an experience filled with culture, history, and unique landscapes.

Yanahuara Lookout

Our first stop will be the traditional Yanahuara Lookout, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Arequipa countryside and Mount Misti.

You’ll have time to take photos, stroll through its charming plaza, and sample the traditional “queso helado” (frozen cheese).

Añashuayco Quarries – Sillar Route

We’ll continue on to the Añashuayco quarries to learn about the origin of the distinctive sillar, the volcanic stone that gives Arequipa its nickname, the “White City.”

We’ll observe the work of local artisans, learn about their carving techniques, and admire impressive works carved directly into the stone.

Culebrillas Canyon

We’ll conclude the tour with a roughly 20-minute hike through Culebrillas Canyon. Along the way, we’ll discover ancient petroglyphs, apachetas, and striking natural formations, connecting with Andean history and tradition.

Return to Arequipa

At 12:30 p.m., we’ll begin our return to the city, enjoying the final landscapes of the tour. The tour will end near Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
