Description

Historic cities of Belgium combining heritage, Christmas markets, gastronomy, craft beer, and very different atmospheres between Flanders and Wallonia. Brussels as the departure and drop-off point.
DAY 1 – BRUSSELS – MECHELEN – ANTWERP
Departure from Brussels to Mechelen, an elegant Flemish city located on the way to Antwerp. We'll stroll through the Grote Markt and see the Town Hall and St. Rumbold's Cathedral, in a historic center that is especially charming during Advent. We'll then continue to Antwerp, where we'll stroll through the Grote Markt, see the guild houses, City Hall, the Cathedral of Our Lady, and the area around Steen Castle, by the River Scheldt. As evening falls, we'll enjoy Winter in Antwerp, with wooden stalls, festive lights, delicious food, and winter activities. Overnight stay in Antwerp.
DAY 2 – ANTWERP – GHENT – BRUGES
After breakfast, we'll head to Ghent, one of the most impressive medieval cities in Belgium. We'll visit Saint Bavo's Cathedral, St. Michael's Bridge, the Graslei and Korenlei quays, and the exterior of the Castle of the Counts. During Advent, the Ghent Christmas Market stretches across several squares in the historic center, creating a delightful stroll among medieval facades, food stalls, and local products. Later, we'll continue to Bruges, where we'll take our first stroll through the Markt and the Burg. In the evening, we'll discover Winter Glow, with markets, decorations, and light installations dotted around the historic center and along the canals. Overnight in Bruges.
DAY 3 – BRUGES – HALVE MAAN BREWERY – MONS – NAMUR
In the morning, we'll continue exploring Bruges, visiting the Markt, the Belfry, Burg Square, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, Rozenhoedkaai, the Béguinage, and the Minnewater. We'll have time to enjoy Winter Glow before visiting the historic Brouwerij De Halve Maan, where we'll learn about the beer-making process and finish with a tasting. We'll then head to Mons, in Wallonia, to see the Grand-Place, the City Hall, and the Belfry. The Mons Cœur en Neige event fills the city center with chalets, lights, music, and food. Onward journey to Namur. Overnight in Namur.
DAY 4 – NAMUR – LEUVEN – BRUSSELS
We'll start in Namur, the capital of Wallonia, heading up to the Citadel to admire the confluence of the Meuse and Sambre rivers. We'll then stroll through the city center and its Christmas Market. We'll then head to Leuven to see the Grote Markt, the spectacular Gothic Town Hall, and St. Peter's Church. Time permitting, we'll also be able to visit the Grand Béguinage. After soaking up the atmosphere of its Christmas Market and the lively university vibe, we'll head back to Brussels. Arrival and end of the trip, without a sightseeing tour of the city.
