Embark on a 3-day trek through the vibrant landscapes of the Maragua Crater, where breathtaking geological formations were sculpted over time, once trodden by dinosaurs, and now cherished as home by the Jalqa community. Enjoy a guided trek with meals and accommodation included.
Day 1:
Meet your guide at the main entrance of Estadio Patria. From here, take a public bus to Chataquila. During the morning, explore ancient paths that were used by ancient communities. Enjoy incredible views from the highest parts of the mountains. Visit the Purmamarca cave, where you can find the first cave paintings.
In the afternoon, continue the hike towards the Inca Machay cave paintings, enjoying the beautiful views of the mountain range. Descend from the caves to the town of Chaunaca, where you will spend the first night.
Day 2:
Walk in the town of Chaunaca and the Socapampa area. In the afternoon, walk from Socapampa to the Maragua Crater, where you will spend the first night. Visit a local weaver, who will show you the secrets of the textile art of this community.
Day 3:
Start the day early and walk from the lodging to the dinosaur footprints in Niño Mayo. Then, continue on to the little village called Chullpas. Walk through the mountains to the Potolo community, where you will take public transport to Sucre.
The waiting time to return to Sucre usually varies, as the bus system doesn't have set schedules, but rather departs when the vehicle fills up. For that reason, it's advisable to arrive at the Potolo community before 1 PM. The arrival time in Sucre varies between approximately 4 to 6 PM.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
