Description
Explore Sucre’s history from Plaza 25 de Mayo to La Recoleta. Visit the university, taste local flavors at the market, walk colonial alleys, and see the city’s oldest church.
Join me on a captivating walking tour through the white city of Sucre, Bolivia’s constitutional capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll begin at the iconic Plaza 25 de Mayo, the historical heart of the city, where I’ll introduce you to Sucre’s rich colonial past and the key buildings that surround the square.
From there, we’ll visit the University of San Francisco Xavier, one of the oldest universities in the Americas, with deep roots in Bolivia’s educational and revolutionary history.
Next, we’ll head to the vibrant Central Market, where you’ll get a taste of local life. Discover traditional ingredients, regional fruits, and Bolivian culinary customs. It’s the perfect spot to connect with local vendors and, if you’d like, try a few snacks!
We’ll continue through two picturesque colonial alleys, perfect for photos and stories about daily life in Sucre over the centuries. Along the way, we’ll visit Sucre’s oldest church, a hidden gem filled with history and charm.
Finally, we’ll climb to La Recoleta viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy a fantastic view of the entire city — the perfect ending to a cultural, historical, and authentic Sucre experience.
