Description

This full-day tour is expertly sequenced to offer a respectful ethical encounter, the finest artistry of the Khmer Empire, & the historic majesty of the outer temples, minimizing travel between sites.
Cambodia Elephant Sanctuary
Arrive at the Cambodia Elephant Sanctuary (or a similar accredited conservation project) for a peaceful and meaningful start to your day.
• Meet the Rescued Giants: Learn the compelling stories of these gentle giants and the sanctuary's ethical mission to provide them with a peaceful, natural life, free from riding or hard labor.
• A Gentle Interaction: Observe the elephants as they roam, forage, and socialize in their natural forest habitat. You may participate in preparing their morning healthy snacks.
• Focus on Welfare: This is a powerful, non-riding experience that promotes conservation and respect for these majestic creatures.

Banteay Srey: The Citadel of Women
After your time with the elephants, we proceed directly to Banteay Srey.
• This jewel of Khmer art is renowned for its remarkable preservation and the intricate, delicate carvings etched into its pink sandstone.
• Witness what many consider the finest stone carving in all of Cambodia, depicting beautiful scenes from Hindu mythology. The morning light often helps highlight the deep detail of the bas-reliefs.

Afternoon: The Majesty of Angkor's Grand Circuit
As we head back towards Siem Reap, we will explore the sprawling and atmospheric temples of the Grand Circuit, offering a tranquil contrast to the heavily visited sites.
• Preah Khan: Explore this massive, atmospheric monastic complex where nature and history intertwine, famous for its sprawling halls and trees growing from the stonework.
• Neak Pean: Visit the unique Buddhist temple set on a circular island in the middle of a large artificial pool, representing a mythical Himalayan lake.
• Ta Som: A photographer's favorite, this small but picturesque temple is most famous for the large strangler fig tree that has completely grown over and enclosed its eastern gate (gopura).
• Pre Rup: Conclude the temple exploration at this beautiful pyramid-style temple mountain, built from brick and laterite, offering a perfect spot for reflection as the afternoon progresses.
