Description

Discover the wonders of Angkor on a private, action-packed jeep trip that includes meals and transportation. Watch the sunset, go on a cruise, visit a floating village, and savor local flavors.
Experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on this private trip in Angkor. Ride in a vintage, open-air jeep to Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and a local mushroom farm, then leave land for the water on a boat trip to a floating village. Enjoy included transportation, meals, and various tastings.
Day 1: Angkor Sunrise Jeep TourFollowing pickup from your hotel by vintage jeep, head to Angkor Wat where your guide will find the best spot to view the sunrise and take photos. Then, head down to explore the ancient temple at its most atmospheric, bathed in the warm glow of the morning sun.
Before breakfast, head into the inner sanctum of Angkor Wat to admire the carvings and architecture of the temple. Continue along the tourist route to Angkor Thom, filled with stone sculptures depicting demons and deities.
Learn about the cultural significance of the Bayon Temple, the Terrace of Elephants, and the Royal Enclosure from your guide as you roam around Angkor Thom.
Next, take a short break to enjoy light refreshments to keep your energy level up before getting back in the jeep and continuing to the Ta Nei Temple. Travel through Angkor off-roads on the way to visit Ta Prohm Temple.
The iconic Ta Prohm is overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. After finishing all visits for the day, enjoy typical Khmer cuisine during lunch by the small reservoir of Sra Srang.
Day 2: Floating Village and Sunset Boat TourGet picked up in the afternoon, then head south of Siem Reap through the picturesque Cambodian countryside. Stop at a local family house surrounded by rice paddies to sip on a cold coconut or a local juice, meet the family, and spend time with them, learning about their farming life.
Next on the itinerary is a visit to a local mushroom farm to learn about how mushrooms are grown using technical methods. Then, head to a rice wine distillery where you’ll get to try Cambodian rice wine right where it is produced.
Later, drive to the nearby Tonle Sap Lake and travel by boat through the Kampong Phluk floating villages, where locals will greet you with smiles and enthusiastic waves. Get insight into the ways the local people live in this region.
Your guide will describe the Tonle Sap Lake in more detail and tell you about the phenomenon that creates a depth variance of up to eight meters and why this lake is vital to Cambodia’s survival. Appreciate this new perspective of Cambodia as you cruise along the river.
To complete the evening, take a boat ride on the waterway and enjoy local delicacies, including soft drinks and other cold beverages. Take in a spectacular view of Tonle Sap at twilight, then arrive back at your hotel in the evening.
