Ice skate on the frozen lake, hike or snowshoe the snowy trails, or try cross-country skiing in the beautiful winter landscape. Perhaps you’d prefer to show your Canadian spirit by strapping on your skates and embracing our nation’s favourite pastime — ice hockey!

Prefer to be warm & cozy? Visit the gift shop or dine in one of the great restaurants inside the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Next we will journey to Johnston Canyon where we will walk the trail to the lower falls. From here, you have the option to continue on a self-guided journey to the upper falls!

Please note that lakes typically remain frozen from early December to the start of April, however, all winter activities are subject to seasonal conditions as well as weather conditions on the day of your tour.

  • Hiking at Johnston Canyon includes a guided walk to the lower falls, with optional unguided hiking to the upper falls.
NOT INCLUDED
  • Tips/Gratuities for your guide/driver are not included but are greatly appreciated!
  • Additional equipment: ice skates, helmets & snowshoes can be rented at an extra cost from third-party providers before/during the tour, subject to availability.
  • Meals are not included in the tour, though a light snack is provided. Lunch is available for purchase, but options are limited and expensive. Guests, especially with dietary restrictions, should bring their own food and drinks.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
