We will walk through parks and modern neighborhoods and get to know the culture of Santiago up close. It will be an afternoon full of history, architecture, and local life. Meeting time:
We will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m., depending on your preference. Tour start: We will begin the adventure on the Santiago Metro or in a private vehicle, depending on the option you have chosen. Both options are part of the experience! Highlights: Santa Lucía Hill:
A green lung in the heart of the city, full of history and panoramic views. We will visit the Hidalgo Castle, the Neptune Fountain, and the Plaza de la Victoria. Lastarria Neighborhood: Bohemian atmosphere, cobblestone streets, cafes, art, and culture. Ideal for walking and soaking up the local spirit. Plaza de Armas:
Kilometer zero of Chile. We will see the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the City Hall, and the National Historical Museum. Civic District: Here you will find La Moneda Palace, the seat of the Chilean government. If we are lucky, we will be able to witness the changing of the guard. Fine Arts Museum:
Located in the Forest Park, this neoclassical building houses Chilean and international art from the 19th century to the present day. Bellavista neighborhood and San Cristóbal Hill:
We will explore this colorful neighborhood, the gateway to the Metropolitan Park. We will take a funicular and cable car to enjoy a spectacular view from the top and visit the famous statue of the Virgin Mary. We will also visit "La Chascona," the home of poet Pablo Neruda. To finish, we will taste a traditional empanada and the classic mote con huesillo, a typical Chilean drink.
