Description
Explore Jiangtou Village, learn to make rice cakes, hike to a waterfall, and enjoy a farm-style dinner on this day trip from Guilin.
Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Guilin and set off on a comfortable bus ride to Jiuwu Town, Lingchuan County. Enjoy the scenic rural landscapes of northern Guangxi along the way.
Upon arrival, wander through the ancient architectural complex of Jiangtou Village. Admire the blue bricks and black tiles of the historical buildings and listen to your guide explain the architectural features of the Han nationality and the achievements of this large family in history.
Next, drive to Xiling Village and visit a local villager's home. In the farmyard, learn to make Guilin-style rice cake. From kneading glutinous rice dough, wrapping it with delicious fillings, experience the fun of making traditional handmade delicacies throughout the process.
Afterward, carry supplies and follow a villager to start the hiking route on the back mountain. Walk along the winding mountain path through the evergreen broad-leaved forest, identify wild vegetation along the way, and listen to the chirping of mountain birds. After about 1.5 hours, reach the mountaintop. A 15-50-meter-high wild waterfall tumbles down the cliff like a white silk ribbon. The splashing water mist refracts fragmented rainbows in the sunlight, and the panoramic view of the surrounding "thousands of mountains" with overlapping peaks unfolds in front of you, bringing a stunning visual experience.
Return along the mountain path. The villagers will lead you to look for fresh bamboo shoots hidden under the layer of fallen leaves and identify edible wild mushrooms (the safety of the ingredients is ensured by professional guides throughout the process). These natural ingredients will become an important part of the dinner, allowing tourists to experience the ecological diet concept of "from the mountains to the table". Please note: If there are no bamboo shoots and mushrooms in season, the villagers will lead everyone to dig for other wild ingredients.
Return to the villager's home and participate in the preparation of the farm-style dinner. Help burn firewood in front of the earthen stove and cook the mountain delicacies picked that day with the host family, paired with self-grown vegetables and special cured meat. During the dinner, the villagers will share the historical origins, folk taboos, and legendary stories of the local Han and Yao villages, enabling you to feel the cultural context of rural society in the hustle and bustle of daily life.
After the meal, reluctantly leave the mountains and take a bus back to Guilin urban area. It is expected to arrive at the hotel at 21:00, ending this fulfilling and in-depth experience tour.
