Enjoy a group tour that takes in highlights of the city of Beijing. Enjoy a walk in the Forbidden City, where emperors once lived and ruled, and visit the Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace as well.
You’ll be picked up at your Beijing hotel between 07:00 and 07:30 and begin the full-day tour of the city’s highlights at the Forbidden City, the largest and most powerful ancient imperial palace complex in the world, with 650 years of history to discover. Your guide will take you along the central axis of the site from south to north for an hour-long tour.
After a short rest, you’ll continue on to the Temple of Heaven, the largest ancient imperial worship site in the world, where the emperors prayed for a good harvest for the farmers. On the way to Temple of Heaven, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Chinese traditional medicine at a museum.
Following a break to enjoy a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll stop for a short visit to a pearl gallery and learn about pearl culture.
Next is a half-hour drive to the Summer Palace, which is the site of the stunning and most famous Chinese imperial garden. After about an hour of exploring the area you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
