Security checks in the Tiananmen Square area can sometimes take 1–2 hours. Please plan your time in advance.
The museum is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, closed on Mondays. Last admission is at 16:00.
Visitors are required to present the original passport submitted for reservation together with the reservation screenshot for entry inspection
Entry to the National Museum of China is via the North Gate only within your reserved visiting window.
Visitors without valid reservations, with mismatched passport details, or those arriving after their scheduled entry time will be denied access to both Tiananmen Square and the National Museum of China.
Not available for Chinese guests with Chinese ID or Chinese passport.
1. By Subway (Recommended) Take Subway Line 1, get off at either Tiananmen West Station or Tiananmen East Station. Exit from Exit B of both stations, then walk around 3–5 minutes to reach Tiananmen Square entrance. 2. By Taxi Show the Chinese address to your driver: 天安门广场 Downtown Beijing → about 15–30 mins by taxi; fare roughly 35–60 RMB based on traffic. Taxis cannot stop directly at the square gate; drop-off is at nearby roadside.
