Its municipal seat is on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, it is 472 kilometers from the city of Medellin, capital of the department of Antioquia.
It is connected by road with the municipality of San Juan de Urabá and the municipality of Los Córdobas. Arboletes is crossed by the Transversal de las Americas.
Arboletes is a seaport and its name means "land of trees". For as long as it has been known, the site was a natural forest planted with tall trees.
Arboletes is fundamentally a cattle district.
Livestock in all its genres: Cattle, Swine, Ovicaprines and Equines. Cattle raising occupies 90% of the municipality's land.
