Description

You will travel approximately 45 minutes to the southern part of the hills. you'll be dropped off within the countryside, and there you will begin your hike through natural scenery and mountains to discover La Chorrera Waterfall.
Bogotá is placed on a vast savannah formed by the east-andean mountain range at an altitude of 2600 M.A.M.AL. Although the majority of the city is rather flat, the city limits to the east are met with an incredible mountain range that follow Bogota’s length all the way from south to north. This mountain range is what is locally known as the East Hills. They have a large influence on Bogota’s climate and they are also the most visible geographical feature. Even though they are always present, they are completely unknown for many locals and visitors.

You will start the tour at 8:00AM in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by your driver and guide. You will travel for approximately 45 minutes to the southern part of the hills. Together with an experienced guide, you'll be dropped off within the countryside, and there you will begin your hike through natural scenery and mountains to discover the base of the first waterfall, El Chiflon. You'll have the opportunity to walk behind the waterfall and feel the water touch your skin - and if you're really adventurous you can always take a swim at the waterfall's base. After that you'll be able regain your energy by eating a locally prepared snack. Next you will head out again through the forest, to reach the most important natural treasure of this exotic trip, La Chorrera Waterfall. Expect to reach the bottom of this 590 meters tall waterfall in roughly 1 hour. You'll pass creeks, a wide array of beautiful plants, and feel amazed by the sounds of nature surrounding you, including the splashing of the waterfall. When you arrive at the fall you will have the opportunity to relax a bit, enjoy the view and take some pictures before you go back.

You'll arrive back at the car after about 3 hours. From there you'll drive to Choachi or La Candelaria in Bogota (it depends of the availability), where you can enjoy a well-deserved meal at a wonderful local's restaurant. After lunch you will be back to your hotel with your driver and guide.
