Description
We hike uphill through a tropical dry forest and visit a fairtrade farm. Learn about the coffee & cocoa production, enjoy a coffee and cocoa experience. Interact with a local family and their culture
We begin our adventure at the park in Minca with a 1.5-kilometer hike uphill on a narrow, unpaved trail through the tropical dry forest. We take our time as we encounter local wildlife and see the first cocoa and coffee plants.
As we arrive at the finca we take a short break with coffee and refreshments. If you wish, you can purchase some of the finca's coffee to take home and support their process. Next, we explore the certified fairtrade coffee farm on a short hike of about 100 meters.
Here we learn about the phases of cultivation, washing, drying and roasting coffee from three different quality processes. Then we discover the secrets of cocoa, you can refresh your skin with a cocoa mask and taste the basis of the royal sacred Inca ingredient.
Continue with a hike uphill on a narrow path and be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views of Minca and Santa Marta. If the weather is favorable, catch a glimpse of Colombia's highest mountains – Pico Colón and Pico Bolivar.
Finally, we get picked up by car. On the way back to Minca, you can privately stop at the nationally renowned and beautiful Pozo Azul waterfall if you booked the morning tour.
