Description
Grab your $20 bucks and join the Chepe Chinchurro Crawl for a true taste of San José. Walk the downtown streets, enjoy local food, and experience Costa Rican nightlife where locals actually hang out.
This is not a typical pub crawl. The Chepe Chinchurro Crawl is an experience that celebrates the real local culture of San José. You will explore the city’s most iconic Chinchurros, the neighborhood dive bars where locals have been gathering for decades to share stories, music, drinks and food.
Our local guide will take you on a walking tour through downtown San José, stopping at three to four authentic dive bars. Each stop has its own history, regular crowd, and unique personality. The bartenders know everyone and the atmosphere is full of character.
The tour meets up at the National Theatre at 6:30 p.m. and finishes around 9:30 p.m. The first bar is about a ten-minute walk, so wear comfortable shoes. As you move between stops, you will also enjoy a bit of city sightseeing and learn about the architecture and stories that shape Chepe, the heart of San Jose.
At the final stop, you will enjoy curated Costa Rican appetizers such as patacones, ceviche, chifrijo, tortillas, and pico de gallo, depending on the group size and availability. It is the perfect way to experience authentic local food and connection in the downtown heart of Chepe.
Drinks are not included in the price, which gives you the freedom to choose what you like best. Whether you prefer domestic beers ($3-4usd), imported beers ($5-6), or alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks (selection varies), there is something for everyone. Most guests spend around 10mil colones (about $20USD) for four local beers during the evening. Mixed drinks start at about $5 each, so you can enjoy your night your own way. There is enough time for 2 drinks at each stop.
So, grab your $20 bucks and come join us for an unforgettable dive bar crawl in Chepe, right in the downtown heart of San José. Meet locals, share a few drinks, enjoy great food, and discover the true local culture that makes this city unique.
