Embark on a RIB boat trip to the impressive Trollfjord, located on the edge of Vesterålen, just outside the border of Lofoten. Travel through the Raftsundet strait and see the steep, towering mountain walls, narrow passage, and fascinating history of the fjord.
Meet your guide at the departure point in Sortland, known as "the blue city." Travel through the Raftsundet strait by Hinnøya, Norway's largest island, to reach the Trollfjord. The fjord is only 2 km long and at its narrowest, just 100 meters wide, giving it an almost fairytale-like atmosphere – hence its name.
Keep an eye out for the majestic sea eagle, Norway's largest bird of prey, which can have a wingspan of up to 2.5 meters. The sea eagle was once endangered and is now a protected species in Norway.
RIB stands for Rigid Inflatable Boat, a type of boat designed to be lightweight, sturdy, and highly seaworthy. These boats are popular for rescue services, military operations, and water safaris. They are built for safety, to withstand rough conditions, and to achieve high speeds.
