The Alpine Dragon Lake hike is one of the most famous hiking routes in Greece, combining the incredible view of the peaks of Tymfi with the enchanting natural landscape. Tuck into a delicious picnic lunch and a meal in a mountain hut during your hike.
Start the hike in the village of Mikro Papigko, which is tucked away in the middle of a lush forest. Pass through the forest to see imposing rock formations known as the “Towers of Astraka”. En route, marvel at magnificent mountain views, leafy forest trails, and impressive rock formations.
Continue along the path to reach Astraka’s mountain hut, located at an altitude of 1,950 meters. Here, take a nice break and tuck into a nutritious lunch. Once recharged, set off to reach the legendary Dragon Lake.
