In Wismar, phanTECHNIKUM invites everyone to find answers to questions about scientific and technical phenomena. On an exhibition area of 3,500 m², the permanent exhibition of the Technical State Museum MV is divided into the elements earth, fire, water and air. Many treasures from the industrial and technological history of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania can be discovered: for example the model of a fighter pilot that was once produced by the Rostock Heinkel works, a huge ship engine from the "Gorch Fock" and a more than 100 year old one Swiderski type steam engine. A special highlight is the world's first ejection seat for pilots, because this was also invented in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
