Experience the magic of Naeba Ski Resort, just 2.5 hours from Tokyo. With over 20 ski courses, it’s perfect for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. Non-skiers can enjoy snow sledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiles. For a magical touch, try night skiing under glowing lights and starry skies.
Stay at the Naeba Prince Hotel, a ski-in, ski-out base just a minute’s walk from the slopes. Enjoy sweeping views of the snowy mountains or forest right from your room. The hotel features relaxing hot spring baths, where you can soak while snow falls outside. With restaurants, cafés, bars, karaoke, a kids’ playroom, ski rentals, and lessons, it’s an all-in-one resort for families, couples, and beginners alike.
Visit Kiyotsu Gorge, ranked among Japan’s three most beautiful gorges. In winter, it transforms into a serene snow-covered wonderland. The famous Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel blends nature with art, featuring observation windows and installations. Don’t miss the “Tunnel of Light,” where water reflections and sunlight create a mesmerizing mirror-like illusion — a dream photo spot.
Take the Hakkaisan Ropeway for breathtaking panoramic views over the snow-blanketed Uonuma Plains and Echigo Mountains.
Visit Harada Farm for a year-round agricultural experience, offering seasonal fruit picking. In winter, the strawberries are especially sweet and juicy — a favorite for visitors of all ages. Try the unique “Tofu Skin DIY” activity, where you scoop fresh yuba (tofu skin) by hand and taste a variety of healthy, tofu-based dishes. The farm also sells homemade jams, desserts, and fresh produce, combining hands-on fun with local gourmet delights.
Explore Suwakyo Gorge, a dramatic V-shaped valley known for its natural beauty. Well-maintained walking trails allow visitors to admire waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, and unique rock formations. The iconic Sasabue Bridge offers sweeping views of Mt. Tanigawa and the surrounding gorge. Each season paints the landscape differently — lush greenery in spring and summer, fiery autumn foliage, and a quiet, snow-covered wonderland in winter.
