Description
Experience the magic of ancestral culture and the history of hand-woven ponchos. Enjoy a sensory experience as you learn to paint your own picture with your hands.
One of the best activities and places to visit in the Historic Center of Quito.
The welcome will be at the entrance of a colonial house built in 1748 and carefully remodeled to preserve the riches of the Colonial era.
You will be greeted with a poncho upon entry so that you can wear it throughout the activity and feel the handmade fabric that ancestral communities in Ecuador lovingly use in their clothing, communities such as the Otavalo, Colorados, Salazacas, and more.
You will have a tour and explanation of the main garments of the ancestral communities.
Then you will have a demonstration of the handcrafted weaving of ponchos and you will learn how to weave ponchos by hand.
We continue our tour and then you will have a finger painting exhibition with master Claudio, who will teach you the art of painting with your own hands.
You will have your own painting ready to take home with you as an unforgettable souvenir of Quito, Ecuador.
At the end, you will have time for shopping in our handmade crafts store.

The local guide will be dressed in a poncho and hat, and will wait at the Colonial House and Old Heritage Building Mirador de Quito. Today it has been converted into the Friends Hotel & Rooftop Quito Boutique Hotel in the historic center.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
