Day 1: Putre – Guane-Guane Hike (5,100 m) – Chivatambo Ranch (Aymara Base Camp)
Depart from Putre and head to Mount Guane-Guane (5,100 m) for an essential 7-to-8-hour acclimatization trek. Afterward, head to Estancia Chivatambo, which serves as your Aymara Base Camp.
Be hosted by a local traditional Aymara shepherd who provides authentic lodging and a homemade regional dinner amid the peaceful altiplano setting.
Day 2: Guallatiri Volcano Climb (6,071 m) – Return to Putre
Wake up early between 2:00 and 4:00 AM for breakfast before driving your high-mountain 4x4 to the 5,100 m vehicle base. From there, begin the foot ascent to the summit of Guallatiri Volcano (6,071 m), tackling a 900-meter elevation gain over 7 to 8 hours of steep climbing.
After celebrating at the summit and admiring the Andean volcanic range, descend (approx. 4 hours) to the 4x4 and drive back to Putre.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This is a high-altitude mountain expedition reaching the summit of an active volcano at 6,071 m. Participants must have prior mountaineering experience and excellent acclimatization (minimum 3 to 4 days of physical activities above 3,500 m in the area). Not suitable for individuals without prior acclimatization.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
