Departure from Motril Port

After pickup at the cruise port, you will travel approximately 70 km (around 1 hour) inland to Granada. During the journey, your guide will introduce the history of the region, the city of Granada, and its most famous monument: the Alhambra.

Stop 1 – The Alhambra Surroundings (Approx. 1.5 hours guided visit)

Your first guided experience takes place in the Alhambra complex, one of the most important monuments in Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Please note: this visit does NOT include entry to the Nasrid Palaces or the full Alhambra ticketed areas, but focuses on the historic surroundings and key highlights.

With your official guide, you will explore:

The Justice Gate (Puerta de la Justicia), one of the main historic entrances
Panoramic viewpoints over the Albaicín district
The Wine Gate (Puerta del Vino)
Entry to the Palace of Charles V, a Renaissance building located inside the complex
The Alhambra Museum, featuring original artefacts such as Islamic art, ceramics, Qur’an manuscripts, and historical architectural elements (closed on Mondays)
Exterior views of the Parador de San Francisco, formerly a monastery and burial site of the Catholic Monarchs

This area offers the best introduction to the Alhambra’s history, architecture, and strategic importance over Granada.

Transfer to Albaicín (Approx. 15–20 minutes)

After the visit, you will take a short drive (around 18 km) by bus from the Alhambra area up to the Albaicín district viewpoint area.

Stop 2 – Albaicín District & San Nicolás Viewpoint (Approx. 1.5 hours guided visit)

The Albaicín is the old Moorish quarter of Granada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known for its narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, and stunning views.

During your guided walking tour, you will explore:

The historic streets of the Albaicín district
Local squares and traditional architecture
The famous San Nicolás Viewpoint, one of the most iconic viewpoints in Europe, offering breathtaking views of the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background
Stop 3 – Free Time in Granada City Centre

After the guided visits, enjoy free time in Granada city centre.

Your guide will arrange a meeting point and time for the return journey.

Return to Motril Port

In the afternoon, you will return comfortably to Motril Port by air-conditioned coach in time for your cruise departure.

- Whisper audio system so you can clearly hear your guide at all times

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
