Next, visit the Colorado Railroad Museum, which preserves the history of the state’s pioneering narrow-gauge mountain railways. See a replica of an 1880s-style railroad depot and explore the 15-acre grounds, home to around 100 locomotives, passenger cars, and cabooses. From mid-May to October, enjoy a 15-minute train ride around the grounds.
After visiting the museum, drive up to Georgetown for lunch and a tour of the town before embarking on the Georgetown Loop Narrow Gauge Railroad. This is a famous historic train ride that adults and kids of all ages love.
