Join us for an unforgettable full-day hiking adventure in Alaska’s stunning Talkeetna Mountains. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, this trek takes you through the boreal forest and across alpine tundra, culminating at one of the Palmer area’s most breathtaking waterfalls - Eska Falls.

This is a challenging hike, covering about 11 miles round-trip with an elevation gain of about 2,500 feet.

Along the way, take in sweeping views of the Chugach and Talkeetna ranges, the glacially fed Matanuska River, and enjoy a locally made picnic lunch at the waterfall.

Your guide will discuss the region’s mining history, local ecology, and unique Alaskan plant and wildlife life.

Wear sturdy and worn-in hiking shoes or boots
Bring water, snacks, and a small daypack
Be prepared for adverse conditions (inclement weather, buggy, etc.) - we're going into the backcountry!
We meet at the Palmer Visitor Center and Museum for this adventure. You are welcome to park your vehicle in their parking lot or in the larger lot across the street.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
