Spend the day learning techniques for descending these narrow spaces with a professional guide, then make your way down through a canyon of your choosing, depending on the abilities, experience, and goals of your group.

After meeting your expert guide in Moab or Hanksville, head to the trailhead (2.5 hours from Moab; 30 minutes from Hanksville). Begin your hike over ancient sand dunes and, as you gain elevation, enjoy views of the Henry Mountains. Once you reach the head of the canyon, don the necessary canyoneering gear provided with your tour including a harness, helmet, kneepads, and gloves.

From here, learn how to rappel, chimney, stem, and down-climb through numerous narrow sections. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• This tour is appropriate for beginners with a sense of adventure
• This tour is private, so it will just be your group plus your guide
• There are a lot of down-climbs and chimneys which will have you sliding your butt, hips, knees, back, and arms against the sandstone walls so you'll definitely want to wear durable inexpensive clothing that you don't mind scuffing up
• The driving time from Moab to the trailhead is 2.5 hours, one-way
• If you will be traveling from Capitol Reef National Park, consider starting this adventure in Hanksville, which is only 30 minutes from the trailhead
• Kneepads and gloves are provided to help protect your delicate angled parts. T-shirts and shorts are fine, especially when coupled with the pads provided, but some people prefer long sleeves and pants for added protection from the abrasive walls
• The best footwear is a pair of low-cut, lightweight style hiking shoes. However, any footwear will work, except open-toed sandals
Please meet at the local partner's office located in Moab at 16 South 100 East. From Main Street, turn East on Center St. and then take a right at 100 East. You'll see the shop on your right.
