Addis Ababa: Chebera Churchura & Maze National Park Tour

Begin your adventure in Addis Ababa, where you’ll visit the Entoto Mountain for panoramic views, explore the Entoto Museum, and see the Church of St. Mary. Visit the Ethnological Museum, the National Museum, and the Trinity Cathedral. End your day at the Merkato, the largest open market in Africa.

Drive from Addis Ababa to Chebera Churchura National Park, passing through Jimma, the homeland of coffee. Enjoy lunch in Jimma before continuing to the park. Spend the night at a tented camp, possibly at the Filwuha campsite.

On day three, drive and walk towards Lake Bulo to see African elephants, hippopotamuses, Cape buffaloes, lions, and leopards. Spend the night at a tented camp near Lake Bulo.

On day four, drive and game view towards Shoshuma Campsite, especially for elephants. Spend the night at a tented camp at Shoshuma Campsite.

On day five, after an early morning game drive, leave Chebera Churchura National Park for Maze National Park. Spend the night at a tented camp in Maze National Park.

On day six, explore Maze National Park, which is covered by savannah grassland. The park is primarily designed to protect the endemic Swayne’s Hartebeest population. Mammals such as Orbi, Bohor, red buck, warthog, bushbuck, waterbuck, greater kudu, lesser kudu, bush pig, Anibus baboon, vervet monkey, leopard, and wild cats are much probable to seen. Spend the night at a tented camp in Maze National Park.

On day seven, drive back to Addis Ababa via Sodo – Butajira Road. Visit Welayata Villages on the way.

On day eight, drive to Addis Ababa. On the way, discover Tiya stelae, acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Here you can see the northernmost example of a peculiar type of engraved, standing stelae which stretch across parts of southern Ethiopia.
