Ethiopia Itinerary – 7 Days
Day 01: Addis Ababa City Tour
Arrive in Addis Ababa and meet your guide at the airport or hotel. Begin your city tour at the National Museum of Ethiopia to see Lucy, the 3.2-million-year-old fossil, and explore exhibits on Ethiopian culture, history, and art. Visit Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market, followed by St. George Cathedral, an iconic religious site. After lunch, drive to Mount Entoto (3,200 meters), the highest point in Addis, for panoramic views and a chance to enjoy a short walk or bike ride.

Day 02: Addis Ababa – Gondar
Take a short flight to Gondar, Ethiopia’s 17th-century capital. Visit the Royal Enclosure, home to the castles of Emperor Fasilides and his successors. Explore Fasilides' Bath and the ornately decorated Debre Berhan Selassie Church, known for its iconic ceiling of angelic faces.

Day 03: Excursion to Simien Mountains
Drive 120 km to the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for dramatic landscapes and endemic wildlife. Enjoy a scenic hike along rugged escarpments with views of the Ethiopian highlands. Spot Gelada baboons and other unique species before returning to Gondar.

Day 04: Gondar – Bahir Dar & Lake Tana Monasteries
Travel to Bahir Dar, check into your hotel, and take a boat trip on Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake and source of the Blue Nile. Visit two of its famous 14th-century island monasteries—Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Maryam—known for ancient manuscripts, murals, and sacred relics.

Day 05: Blue Nile Falls – Drive to Lalibela
Drive to Tis Abay village to visit the majestic Blue Nile Falls. Take a moderate hike through scenic trails and admire the power of the falls. Return to Bahir Dar for lunch, then enjoy a scenic drive through the Ethiopian highlands to Lalibela.

Day 06: Explore Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches
Spend the day exploring the 11 medieval rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, carved entirely from living rock in the 12th century. These monolithic structures include intricate windows, columns, and passageways, and reflect extraordinary engineering and religious devotion.

Day 07: Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Departure
Visit Asheton Maryam Monastery, perched on a mountain ridge offering breathtaking views. Built in the 13th century, the monastery features ancient carvings and religious treasures. Later, fly back to Addis Ababa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with traditional Ethiopian music and dance before your transfer to the airport.
