Gondar: Simien Mountains 3-Day Trekking Adventure

Embark on a 3-day trekking adventure in the Simien Mountains National Park from Gondar. Enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery, wildlife encounters, and cultural experiences.
Day 1: Gondar – Simien Mountains – Sankaber Camp

Meet your guide in Gondar and drive to the Simien Mountains National Park. After completing park formalities, begin your first trek through dramatic escarpments and stunning viewpoints. Along the way, look for endemic Gelada baboons grazing on the mountain grasslands.

Enjoy panoramic views over deep valleys and cliffs before reaching Sankaber Camp (3,250m), where you will spend the night surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.


Day 2: Sankaber – Jinbar Waterfall – Gich Camp

After breakfast, start one of the most scenic hikes in the park. Trek through rolling highlands and enjoy magnificent views of the Simien escarpment. Visit the spectacular Jinbar Waterfall, one of the park's most impressive natural attractions.

Continue to Gich Camp while spotting endemic wildlife and unique Afro-alpine vegetation. The sunset from Gich is often one of the highlights of the entire trip.


Day 3: Gich – Imet Gogo Viewpoint – Gondar

Depart early for a hike to the famous Imet Gogo viewpoint, considered one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Ethiopia. Enjoy incredible views across the dramatic cliffs, valleys, and peaks of the Simien Mountains.

After exploring the area and taking photographs, return to the trailhead and drive back to Gondar, arriving in the afternoon.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
